Article Explains how to generate reports using AD Profiler Reporter. AD Profiler Reporter was designed to generate reports in Word and Excel formats.
AD Profiler Reporter was recently designed in order to generate reports in Word and Excel formats. We thank you our customers for providing feedback on the reporter.
When you install AD Health Profiler, the Reporter gets installed on the machine and a desktop shortcut is created. Just double click on the shortcut to start the reporter. The reporter looks like as shown in the screenshot below:
In the left pane you see the list of Health Profiles that you created and in the right pane you see reporting details to be included in the report.
Since Reporter uses Microsoft Office APIs to generate the reports, please ensure you are running reporter on a machine where Microsoft Office is installed.
You need to open a Health Profile before you can start preparing the reports. To open the Health Profile, click on a Health Profile in the left pane and then click on the Open button. Next, click on Open button to open the profile. Once the Health Profile is opened, you need to provide the following details in the right pane:
Once done, click on the “Generate Report” button. Once clicked, you will be presented with the following screen:
As you can see in the above screenshot, you are provided with two options; “Generate Microsoft Word Summary” and “Generate Excel Issues Summary”. Check both the options and then click on “Start Now” button. When you click on the “Start Now” button, the reporter will being creating the reports with the progress window as shown in the screenshot below:
Click on “Yes” button to open the report folders and you will see two files as named below:
Files are located under %AppLocalData%DynamicPacksTechnologiesADHealthProfilerDataWordReports folder as shown in the screenshot below:
Once the reporter has finished preparing the reports, you will be asked if you need to see the report files where it generated as shown below:
The word summary file contains the information that you entered before generating the report such as customer name, overall health status, overall health status, consulting firm name, and issues summary as shown below:
As you can see the Word summary shows the issues in different colors so it is easy for you to identify issues severity. The Word summary report can be modified to meet your requirements.
The Excel Issues file contains issue details as well as Issues summary as shown in the screenshot below:
The data for each test is maintained in a separate sheet. In the Summary Sheet you can click on Hyperlink to go to the Test sheet. Similarly, the test sheet contains a link back to Summary sheet to quickly jump to Summary sheet as shown in the screenshot below:
This is quite useful to quickly navigate through all issues and/or to switch between Summary Sheet and test sheets.
